Women in Supply Chain Academy

Women in Supply Chain Academy

In follow up to Intel’s event last March (Which you can read about here) we were excited to be invited you to their Q4 event Women in Supply Chain Academy last Thursday, October 8th.

This was the first in a series of classes aimed to help Intel suppliers understand more about how to do business with Intel and to gain new skills to help grow their business. Since the last meeting, Intel’s CEO Brian Krzanich announced Intel will increase spending globally with women and minority-owned suppliers more than sixfold to $1 billion a year by 2020.

Supplier Diversity is important in business not only for the community but also for the innovation it brings to business. Intel are actively working with WEConnect International to increase the diversity of their supply chain.

WEConnect International is a corporate-led non-profit that champions supplier diversity and empowers women business owners to succeed in global markets. One of their key goals in this region is to increase the volume of products and services that their corporate members, including Intel, buy from businesses that are at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by one or more women.

Lonergan Corporate Gifts is proud to announce that we have recently applied for certification as a Women Business Enterprise (WBE) by WEConnect International. We hope this will lead to greater opportunities and access to contract opportunities to help grow our business.
