International Women’s Day
To celebrate International Women’s day, Intel in Leixlip hosts a lunch every year promoting local women in business. This year two women from Lonergan Corporate Gifts were invited to attend the event on the 12th of March.
“Intel are dedicated to building an innovative and diverse supply chain reflecting the market and supporting the communities we work in. Intel believes that when an individual’s ideas are given the chance to flourish, the results are overwhelmingly positive for the entire community. Intel was created by entrepreneurs and supported by the people who believed in them, and Intel Ireland would like to celebrate this entrepreneurship with our Women owned Suppliers who support our local needs.”
After an amazing buffet lunch, Malachy Fergus, GER Strategic Sourcing Manager, kicked off the day by providing an update on how the Women-Owned Suppliers Intel program has progressed in the past year, both at a local and global level. Members of the Intel procurement team were on hand to answer any questions anyone had, as well as distribute a survey that looked into key skills areas needed for growing entrepreneurship. This was with an eye to developing a training program at a later stage.
The real high point of the day though was the chance to hear from three women who own their own business and are examples of success. Women who have grown their sales in Intel over the last 12 months: Francine O’Byrne, Managing Director at The Relocation Bureau Ltd., Emma Murphy, Sales and Marketing Director of Party Mad and our very own Louise Lonergan, Managing Director of Lonergan Corporate Gifts!
